Taper calculator
A step-down schedule for nicotine pouches: pouches per day and nicotine contained per day, from where you are to zero on a date you pick. It runs in your browser. Nothing is sent anywhere.

How the schedule is built
- 1
Count honestly
Pouches per day on a normal day, not a good one. Strength is printed on the can.
- 2
Pick the days
Thirty is common. Anything from one day to a year works; a long tail at one pouch a day is a sign to pick an earlier date.
- 3
Choose a curve
Linear drops a little every day. Stepped holds a level for a few days, then drops — easier to remember.
- 4
Track it
The dashboard keeps today’s target, logs each pouch, and shields a slip so one bad day is a slip, not a reset.
Questions anons ask
- Taper or cold turkey?
- Nobody here can tell you which works for you. Anons report both. The peer-reviewed work is mostly about vaping and smoking, not pouches. What a taper does is make the plan explicit, so a slip is a slip and not the end of the attempt.
- Why does the schedule never hit zero before the quit date?
- Because a taper that reaches zero early is a cold-turkey plan with extra steps. The last day before your quit date is one pouch. Then the clock starts.
- Can I step down strength too?
- Yes. The dashboard plan can switch to a lower mg on a date you choose while the count keeps falling. Nicotine figures are what the can says is contained, not what your body absorbs.
- What happens when I go over target?
- That day is a slip. You get three shields to start and earn one per seven clean days, up to five; a shielded slip keeps your streak. Nothing is stored as a counter — every number is recomputed from what you logged.
- Is this medical advice?
- No. Estimates only. For NRT, prescriptions or anything clinical, the resources page links people who are paid to know.
