How to quit Zyn

Zyn comes in two lines. Classic is 15 to a can at 3 mg and 6 mg; ultra is 20 to a can at 9 mg and 11 mg. The habit anons describe most often is a can a day, so the schedule below starts from a can of Zyn classic, 15 pouches. Change the count to yours; the calculator is live.

Everything on this page is arithmetic on the numbers printed on the can. Nicotine figures are what the can says is contained, never what a body absorbs.

A 30-day step-down from a can a day

Linear taper, 15 pouches on day one to zero on day 31: 224 pouches you do not buy and 1344 mg of nicotine not contained in them, at 6 mg a pouch. The last day before quitting is one pouch. Then the clock starts.

Day one 15, day ten 10, day twenty 5, day 30 1. Stepped holds each level for a few days instead; the dashboard supports both and a strength step-down on a date you choose.

What the can says

Zyn classic, 15 to a can: a full can contains 45 mg at 3 mg and 90 mg at 6 mg of nicotine.

Zyn ultra, 20 to a can: a full can contains 180 mg at 9 mg and 220 mg at 11 mg of nicotine.

A can a day of classic at 6 mg is 90 mg contained per day. That is the number the taper brings to zero.

What it costs

No manufacturer publishes a price for Zyn, and we will not print one we cannot source. Enter what you pay in the calculator; prices vary by state and tax. The per-pouch figure is the price divided by 15 for classic or 20 for ultra, and the yearly figure is the daily figure times 365 — the calculator does both and shows the week and the month in between. It asks which format you buy first, because a can of Zyn is 15 or 20 pouches depending on the line and the same shelf price is a different price per pouch.

The first weeks

What anons report, not medicine: the first two or three days are mostly restlessness and a mouth that wants something in it; by the end of the first week the cues are the habit, not the nicotine — coffee, the car, the desk; by day thirty the money has become visible and the pouch count is a number you check rather than a feeling you obey. Everyone slips at least once. A slip is a slip.

Questions anons ask

Which Zyn strengths are there?
3 mg and 6 mg in classic and 9 mg and 11 mg in ultra, as printed on the can (https://us.zyn.com/questions/, as of 2026-09-02). Each strength has its own page with the full day-by-day schedule.
How many pouches are in a can of Zyn?
15 in classic and 20 in ultra (https://us.zyn.com/questions/, as of 2026-09-02). A can a day is the baseline the example schedule uses.
Taper or cold turkey for Zyn?
Nobody here can tell you which works for you; anons report both. A taper makes the plan explicit so a slip is a slip, not the end. Cold turkey skips the schedule and starts the clock at your last pouch. The dashboard does either.
Does this site sell Zyn?
No. We never sell, recommend or link to nicotine products. The only things we point at are the calculators, the dashboard and the people who are paid to know.

The calculator is the free sample. The dashboard is the habit.
